Cell One Mobileinternet is available commercially in all towns and settlements where Cell One has coverage in Namibia’s 13 Regions. Cell One’s Mobileinternet is charged on usage at a rate of N$1 per MB (Megabyte). Fees will not be charged for the time spent online, but for the volume used.

Mobileinternet is available as a standard feature on the Cell One network – and the advantage thereof is that you do not need any special activation procedures to start using the service. To use Cell One’s Mobileinternet you simply send a blank SMS to 1253 to receive your Internet phone settings.

With Cell One Mobileinternet you can surf the Internet, check your e-mail, do electronic banking, chat and much more.

How to get started?  
How to get started? All Cell One customers have Mobileinternet activated on their SIM cards.

When you have a mobile phone or a PCcard that supports Mobileinternet, you must get the Internet phone settings for your phone.

To get the correct settings send a blank SMS to 1253.

You will then receive a SMS back. Please reply “Y” to this message. If you are prompted for a password, type in 1234.
Select save.

When asked to have this as your defaults setting: Select yes - and save the Internet phone settings as default settings.

What if you get a message back that says "you must get manual settings"?

If your phone is not supported, please call Cell One Customer Care at 120 for information about how to set up your phone manually.
What to do when the Internet phone settings are saved? Turn your phone off and on again to update your phone.
How to start using the Mobileinternet? Hold down the "0" button or “globe”.
The browsing page will then open on your phone.

Price information and billing
How much will I be charged when using Mobileinternet? You will be charged N$ 1 per MB when using Mobileinternet with your Postpaid subscription.
Do I need to pay an extra monthly fee or an activation fee? There is no extra fee for using Mobileinternet.
I want to know how much I have used, what should I do? Call Cell One customer care at 120.
If you want detailed invoice information you can add the service itemised billing to your subscription.
Will my internet usage affect my usage limit? Your internet usage together with your other usage will be your total usage. When your total usage has reached 90% of your usage limit you will receive an SMS.
I want to increase my usage limit, what should I do? Call customer care at 120 or visit one of the Cell One shops.
What can I use Mobileinternet for?
What can you do with Mobileinternet? If you have a phone that supports web browsing you can surf the Internet, check your e-mail, do electronic banking, chat and much more like you do on your PC.

You can also use your phone as a modem for your PC or lap top. Or you can place your SIM-card in a data card to get connected to your PC or laptop with the PC-card.

When using your phone to access Internet, the services you can use depends upon your phone model.

If your phone does not have a web browser, you might want to install browser software on your phone.

Can I use Mobileinternet with any phone? In order to use Mobileinternet our customers must have a phone that supports Internet (GPRS, EDGE, UMTS (3G) or HSDPA.
If I want to get an e-mail account, what do I do? With Cell One Mobileinternet you can use your existing e-mail account or you can sign up for a new account with any of the available services.

Cell One’s Mobileinternet is charged on usage at a rate of N$1 per MB (megabite) which is convenient for the customers because they are charged for volume usage and not for the time spent online.
Is MMS part of the Cell One Mobileinternet? No it is not. Customers will not receive settings for MMS when downloading settings for data. But it is possible for customers to send pictures via email or by using Facebook and Mxit.
