Cell One : One2One

Getting started with Cell One

If you are using a new cell phone, charge your battery as per the instructions in your cell phone user manual.

You will find your SIM card inside your Cell One Starter pack. Gently separate your SIM card from the plastic surround. Keep this plastic card as it has your PIN and PUK numbers. Insert your SIM card into your cell phone and switch it on.

Your Cell One SIM card comes with pre-installed air time. Key in your PIN code (found on the plastic card that held the SIM card). It is advisable to create your own PIN code for safety reasons. Your PUK code can be found on the plastic card that held the SIM card. If you enter your PIN code incorrectly 3 times your phone will automatically lock. In order to unlock your phone you must enter your PUK code. If you lose your PUK code, contact any Cell One shop.

In your Starter pack you will find a registration form. If you did not register your name and ID-number when you bought your Starter pack, please fill in the information now and take it to your nearest Cell One shop.

Registering your name and ID-number helps Cell One give you a better, more efficient service.
Proof of ID is required in order to obtain the PUK code.

Buying Cell One airtime

Visit any Cell One shop or one of our distributors to refill your Cell One number. Cell One airtime is transferred electronically to your cell phone. If you want to buy airtime for friends and family, make sure you have their cell phone number with you.

When you buy airtime make sure that you receive an SMS that confirms the transaction. The SMS is your receipt.

Cell One ‘Top Up’ recharge scratch cards are also available in N$10, N$30 and N$50.

Cell One Missed Call SMS

Sending an SMS

To send an SMS follow these simple steps:
Select MENU
Select MESSAGES
Choose the WRITE MESSAGE option and key in your message
Choose SEND once your message is complete. You will be asked to enter the recipient’s cell phone number. Then push SEND.
Because each cell phone is different you may need to check your cell phone manual.

At Cell One all SMSes will be stored in the network for 7 days. This means that if the person you are trying to send a SMS to has their cell phone turned off for 6 days after you sent the SMS, he/she will receive the SMS as soon as the cell phone is turned on. If he/she has the phone turned off for 8 days after you sent the SMS, the SMS will not be delivered.

You can get a report that confirms that the SMS you have sent is received. See your cell phone user manual for more information.

Don’t forget to make use of our Every Day is Friday special which allows Cell One subscribers to SMS other Cell One subscribers for FREE from 7pm to midnight every night.

Per second billing

How do you reduce your monthly cell phone costs? The answer is to use Cell One’s per second billing!

All Cell One calls are charged with a system called ‘Per Second Billing’. This basically means that you ONLY pay for the time you actually talk. In other words, if you talk for 14 seconds you only pay for 14 seconds. Or if you talk for 40 seconds, again you only pay for 40 seconds.

To work out how much a per second billing call costs you simply take the per second rate and multiply it by the number of seconds that your call takes. It’s that simple!

Most of you have a monthly airtime budget. Let’s say your budget is N$30.00 a month. At 2,5 cents per second this means that your N$30.00 will give you 20 minutes of talk time! You can’t get any better than that!

Using Voicemail (123)

Cell One Voicemail helps you keep track of your messages when you are not able to answer your cell phone.
