Frequently Asked Questions
It’s a leading wireless solution that keeps mobile professionals connected to their customers, friends, colleagues, families and the information that drives their day.
It is designed to provide BlackBerry® smartphone users around the world with secure, wireless connectivity to a wide range of information and communications.
Yes, BlackBerry® smartphone is a handset that you can use to for voice and sms like
any other handset available on the market. BlackBerry® solution is the integration of BlackBerry® services with the BlackBerry® smartphone, meaning the BlackBerry® smartphone is enabled to allow the user access to emails, internet, intranet, chat messenger, address book and a lot more.
BlackBerry® solution uses push technology, meaning your emails will be pushed to your BlackBerry® device whereas other smartphones pull emails.
BlackBerry® server looks for emails on the mail server provided to you by your service provider and immediately will collect this email as it arrives, the BlackBerry® server then pushes the mail to your BlackBerry® smartphone’s inbox.
With other smartphones when emails arrive on the mail server, they are stored on the mail server, the smartphone logs into the server, pulls and downloads all emails for the user to be able to view or read. This means your device must constantly query the server to check if there are emails that have been sent to you which in turn reduces its battery life and increases your bill due to large volumes of data being downloaded.
Firstly, it improves the battery life of your BlackBerry® smartphone because the emails are pushed to the device instead of the device having to pull them.
BlackBerry® smartphone’s battery life extends to two days when in full use and 14 days when in standby mode
Secondly, your emails gets delivered immediately because they are pushed to your device the moment they get received on your mail server.
Compresses Data
With the solution (BlackBerry® solution) BlackBerry® smartphone is the only device which compresses data
For example: if you send an email with a size of 10 megabytes, BlackBerry® smartphone reduces the size of that email by compressing it by 90%, meaning the email is sent out as 1 megabyte only.
The additional benefit that comes with data compression is a reduction in the costs a BlackBerry® smartphone user will pay for a sent email as opposed to the user having any other smartphone.
Encrypts Data When a BlackBerry® user sends out an email or any data, BlackBerry® uses a software called Triple Data Encryption Standard (Triple DES) or Advanced Encryption Standard Encryption (AES) to keep data encrypted (protected) at all points between the BlackBerry® Smartphone users and the BlackBerry® server.
Instant Messaging
